Berhampur: A backhoe loader machine and three tractors were torched to ashes by the Maoist in Balimaha village near Gumudumaha under Baliguda police limits early in the morning on Thursday.
Reportedly, a group of armed members of the KKBN (Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh) Division of outlawed CPI (Maoist) group stormed into the construction camp set up under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) in the village late night and attacked the staff and labourers present at the site.
The Maoists have warned the contractor engaged in the road construction work and villagers through a poster pasted on a tree before leaving the spot.
