Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: An Entrepreneurship Student Training meet was organized in Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Deemed to be University for teachers and managers of Erasmus Plus SILICE delegates from January 22 to January 25, 2018.
As many as 40 delegates from Israel, Germany, Portugal, Scotland, Croatia took part in the meet, which aimed to develop social innovation and social entrepreneurship in Israeli and Indian local communities.
The SILICE is an international capacity building project with 14 universities & institutions from 6 different countries, which will continue for minimum three years.
The training will help the delegates in the ideation stage and move onto the next level by providing mentorship and equipping them with the necessary skill sets.
Dr. Achutya Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS addressed the delegation and inspired them with excerpts from his individual entrepreneurial journey. The meet led to creative intermingling amongst the intellects, proactive cross border learning and opened the doors to promote more such programs. This would lead to the establishment of stronger relations amongst existing partners to achieve the common goal of a better and more responsive society. Odisha needs such activities and initiative to scale up social incubation program.
Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, CEO of KIIT-Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI), welcomed the delegates and provided insight on the status of social innovation and entrepreneurship, while Ms. Daniela Levi from TelHai Academic College coordinated the programme. In the four-day meet, apart from the extensive theoretical sessions that were conducted, the delegates were also taken on site visits to social enterprises nearby to get a real time exposure to social enterprises.
