Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: Forty Four police personnel working with different agencies in Odisha were awarded with Police medal, President’s medal, Union Home Minister’s medal and Governor’s medal for their gallantry, distinguished and meritorious services.
Governor Dr. SC Jamir decorated the police officers and men with medals in the investiture ceremony organized at Jayadev Bhawan here on January 26.
Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, , Additional Chief Secretary Home Asit Kumar Tripathy, Director General of Police (DGP) Dr. RP Sharma, DGP Fire Services BK Sharma, and ADGP Prisons Binyanand Jha were present in the programme.
The personnel awarded with police medal for Gallantry are Havildar Bhabani Pradhan, Subedar Kiran Kumar, Constable Manoranjan Nayak, Constable Uday Sankar Patra, Constable Dhaneswar Muduli, Sergeant Tunu Sahoo, Constable Premananda Pradhan, Constable Mahadev Gahir, Constable Hemanta Pradhan, Constable Raj Kishore Pradhan, Sub-Inspector Bikash Patra and Constable Hrushikesh Jal, Sepoy Ram Chandra Hembram, Constable Samanta Majhi, Smt. Pusan Mandarin Soren wife of Late Constable Suresh Chandra Hembram, Sergeant Santanu Kumar Pradhan and Havildar Amit Kumar Biswal.
The policemen awarded with President’s police medal for distinguished service are Additional DGP, SCRB Sudhansu Sarangi, Additional SP Special Branch, Bhubaneswar Rabindra Kumar Mohapatra.
Personnel awarded with Police medal for meritorious service were Additional SP, SIW Bhubaneswar Kartikeswar Samal, AIG of Police Kishore Kumar Dongayat, Asst. Commandant, Security Wing, Bhubaneswar Naresh Kumar Patel, Sub-Inspector Bijay Kishore Dash, Havildar Mohammad Sabir, Havildar Goutam Charan Swain, Constable Sagar Charan Guia and Constable Sanjukta Pattanaik.
Recipients for Union Home Minister’s medal for excellence in police training were Inspector, BPSPA, Bhubaneswar Seemarekha Panda, Havildar Bimal Kumar Tamang and Havildar Arun Kumar Panda. Persons awarded with Governor’s Medal-2017 were DIG of Police, NCR, Talcher Yatindra Koyal, Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi, SP Sambalpur Sanjeev Arora, Deputy Commandant SOG, Bhubaneswar Ajay Kumar Padhi, AIG of Police Aswini Kumar Mohanty, Inspector Suresh Kumar Bal, Khandagiri IIC Himansu Bhusan Swain, Inspector K Benugopal Acharya, Deputy Subedar Ashok Kumar Brahma, SI Gokulananda Nalia, ASI Chittaranjan Nayak, ASI Manoranjan Samal, Constable Satyabadi Mallick, Kalyani Badhei and Fakir Mohan Sahu.
