Bhubaneswar: 2006 batch IPS Officer Anup Kumar Sahu took charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Sahu took the charge in the presence of predecessor Satyabrata Bhoi and other senior police officials.
Speaking to the media persons, Sahu said law and order situation, crime control, VVIP security and traffic management are the main areas of concern for him. In addition to these, cyber crime cases and security to women will be his primary focus to dealt with these cases positively, he added.
Sahu had previously served as the SP of Bhadrak district and Jajpur district.
A notification issued by the Home department earlier had transferred Anup Kumar Sahu as the Bhubaneswar DCP in place of Satyabrata Bhoi, who was promoted and transferred as the DIG, Northern Range.
