Bhubaneswar, Jan 18: The commissionerate Police on Wednesday night arrested a youth for blackmailing his ex-girlfriend by posting her nude photographs in Facebook.
The accused was identified as Subasis Routray of Niali in Cuttack. He has been sent to the judicial custody after a local court here rejected his bail plea today.
Police sources said, four years ago Subasis was in love with the girl. Later they were in a physical relationship and in the meantime the accused had managed to click some nude photographs of the girl.
But after some months, the girl got to know that Subasis had an affair with another girl. So she got separated from him. When the accused approached the girl again, she rejected his proposal.
To take revenge, the accused created a fake account of the complainant and blackmailed her by posting nude photographs in it.
Later, the girl lodged a complaint with the Kharvelnagar Police station. Acting to it, the police registered a case (4/18) under section 465, 469, 500, 509, 354d, 506 of IPC read with section 66c of IT act and arrested the culprit.
