RAIPUR – 17th Jan 2018 – A case of fraud has been registered in the Dindayal Upadhyay Nagar police station in the Capital Of Chhattisgarh – RAIPUR.
Mrs. Uma Bai Chandrakar wife of Gopal Chandrakar received a phone call on 18th of December at around 11:00 a.m. The caller identified himself as the P.A of Big B Amitabh Bachchan and told that “ your phone no is been selected in the lucky draw of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” and you have won a prize of Rupees One Crore”
Uma bai said that she did not believe the caller first but he said that she will be called and congratulated by Mr. Bachchan himself once she agrees to pay the Tax amount of Rs.3.48 Lakhs againts Rs. 1 Crore. He also asked not to disclose the details with anyone until she gets the prize money.
Uma bai was lured by the offer of such a big amount. She thought to surprise her husband and family after she gets the amount. She sold all her jewellery and collected Rs.1.5 Lakhs and for the rest money she took hand loan @ 3% from some local money lenders.
She deposited the amount in the given bank accounts from 19th Dec to 5th Jan 2018 in Ten instalments. The Bank Account Nos were – 20406014209 , 20390329507 , 1498000101073198, 7164000100006368 , 15009000109211124 , 0350000102262571 and 010000012847797. The Bank deposit slips of the same have been submitted to the police station for enquiry.
When after depositing the said amount , Umabai tried to contact the nos from which she received the calls , but all the nos were not reachable or switched off. And no amount was deposited in her Bank account which she was expecting. She now realised that she has been cheated and she informed her husband about the same and they filed the case of fraud in the Police station.
Umabai and her family are a lower middle income class family, his husband works in a small company. They have lost all their savings , jewellery and moreover now have a loan of Two Lakhs which is a big amount to repay for them.
We want to make our readers aware about this kind of fraud calls which lures of winning big prize money. Please don’t trust such callers. Inform the Police station about such calls.
